Philips Lighting & Signify

Koninklijke Philips N.V. (Royal Philips) is a Dutch multinational headquartered in Amsterdam. Philips was founded in 1891 by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik Philips. The company's first products were carbon filament lamps (the link shows LED versions of these vintage light bulbs).

In 2016 Philips spun off Philips Lighting as a separate entity and renamed it Signify.

Signify is active in approximately 180 countries and has factories in 22 countries. The company spends around 5% of its revenue on research and development and has a portfolio of around 14,000 patents. Signify was given the right to use the Philips brand name for ten years, with options to extend.

The PHILIPS brand name remains on all lights we sell from Signify Australia.
