Hue Lily vs. Hue Lily XL
Both Hue Lily lights require a Philips Hue Power Supply and Hue Bridge (sold separately). The power supply converts mains voltage to the 24V used by these and other Hue garden lights. The Bridge acts as a control gateway, enabling all of the innovative features for these lights.
Here are the key differences between the two models:
Model | Wattage | Lumens | Beam Angle |
---|---|---|---|
Lily | 8W | 590 lm | Narrow |
Lily XL | 15W | 1060 lm | Wide (60°) |
The Lily XL (pictured on the left) is physically larger and about double the brightness and wattage as the Hue Lily (right).
Installation & Mounting Options
Hue Lily lights are fully adjustable, allowing for 360° of rotation both horizontally and vertically.
Each Hue Lily spotlight comes with everything you need to mount and connect them to your existing system:
- Mounting Plate: Allows for direct mounting to your floor, deck, wall, or fence.
- Garden Spike: For direct insertion into garden beds or lawn.
- Connectors & Cable: The included cable and 'T' connector enable quick connection to an existing low-voltage cable or power supply.
Each kit includes a mounting plate and garden spike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it officially called a Philips Hue Lily 'Extension'?
It's an extension because it's an add-on to your existing Hue outdoor garden set-up. You'll need a Hue power supply and Bridge if you don't have these already.
How much brighter is the Hue Lily XL 15W compared to the 8W?
At maximum brightness, the XL is just under twice as bright as the standard model. But when tuned to warm white 2700K, the XL is nearly three times as bright (950lm vs 350lm).
