Hue Low-Voltage Outdoor Power Supply
The Hue Outdoor Power Supply is the starting point for your smart garden lighting system. It converts standard mains electricity into safe low-voltage (24V), allowing you to connect and power multiple Hue outdoor lights from a single wall socket.
- Safe, Low Voltage: Converts 240V mains power to safe 24V DC, so you can build your garden lighting without an electrician.
- Weatherproof (IP67): Fully sealed and durable construction designed to withstand rain and life outdoors.
- Easy Expansion: Simply plug your first light or extension cable directly into the unit to start your chain.
- Plug & Play: Comes with a standard AU/NZ wall plug for easy DIY setup from any power point.
Choose a 40W or 100W Power Supply
The correct power supply depends on how many lights you plan to connect. You can simply add up the wattage of your lights to ensure they don't exceed the power supply's rating.
- 40W Power Supply: Best for smaller setups. Ideal for powering a specific zone, such as a pathway with 4-5 Calla bollards or a few Lily spotlights.
- 100W Power Supply: Designed for larger lighting plans. Features two connector ports, allowing you to deploy two separate cabling runs from a single plug. Perfect for long chains or high-brightness lights like the Amarant.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate which power supply (PSU) I need?
Check the wattage on the box of your lights (e.g., a Lily Spot is 8W). Add the wattages of all lights you want to connect to the PSU. If the total is under 40W, use the 40W PSU. If it is over 40W, you need the 100W PSU or divide the lights into multiple strings, each with its own PSU.
Can I connect the 100W PSU to just one light?
Yes. It is perfectly safe to use either size power supply for a small load. It simply gives you the capacity to add many more lights in the future.
What is the maximum cable length?
Philips Hue recommends a maximum total cable length of 35 metres per power supply to minimise voltage drop to the furthest lights for proper operation.
