4ft LED Fluro Tube Installation Guide
There are two main types of fluorescent tube light fittings in existing buildings:
1) Magnetic ballast fittings - with starters. These are the most common fitting type. Simply replace the tube and starter (supplied), and you're done! Magnetic ballast fittings are identifiable by the fact they have starters present.
Easy installation for any fitting with a starter.
2) Electronic ballast fittings - no starters. Unlike the example shown above, these fittings do not have a starter. These units require an electrician to 'wire out' the existing ballast. Lights without starters that come on instantly are generally electronic ballast.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which 1200mm LED tube is better: 6500K or 4000K?
One colour temperature is not 'better' than the other. Generally, 6500K is a 'whiter' light and is perceived to be slightly brighter. If you want these LED tubes to look the same as the fluro tubes you are replacing, look for '840' or '865' on your existing lights. '840' is for 4000K, and '865' is for 6500K.
Does your price include a replacement LED starter for each tube?
Yes - remember to check the packaging for the LED starter. It's easy to miss if you open the box at the other end! The LED starter is essentially just a safety fuse - it allows the LED tube to work in your existing light fittings without further modification.
What other LED tube options are available?
If you want to maximise your energy savings, we recommend the Philips Master LED Tube. It consumes 40% less power to produce a similar amount of light as this 4ft CorePro led tube. We also sell the Philips CorePro range in other sizes - including 600mm and 1500mm. See our complete range of LED tubes.
Very quick service.
The led’s are great. I had some questions about the product after receiving them and the service was excellent. Thank you.
Philips CorePro T8 LED Tube 17.6W - 1200mm
Fantastic buying and delivery experience from Reduction Revolution (thank you!!) but unfortuantely the Philips lights are... meh. Way too cool white even though they are specified as “daylight” (which should be around 6500K). Other Philips LED lights I’ve used in adjacent spaces are specified as cool white yet are warmer (read: nicer) than these. They’re all over the place.
Hi Dave, thanks for the feedback. We advise customers to be guided by the Kelvin rating (like 4000K or 6500K) rather than the words wherever possible. Unfortunately, brands use different 'words' (like neutral, cool or daylight) in different circumstances. We agree Philips could be more standardised in their word choice, but they are not. The order didn't go well to start with. But Brenton promptly provided me with excellent post sales service to rectify it. Highly recommended.
Led technology good stuff and
Fast delivery & all in tact, despite being fragile
reasonable price, very easy to fit, very bright compared to the old tubes, very happy.
