Bright, Colour-Selectable LED Tube

The Philips CorePro 5CCT T8 LED Tube is our brightest and most flexible upgrade for fluorescent light fittings. With a built-in colour selection switch, all you need to do is choose your required length.

  • 5 Colour Temperatures in 1 Tube: No need to decide before you buy. During installation, you can select from Warm White (2700K or 3000K), Neutral White (4000K), or Cool Daylight (5000K or 6500K).
  • Bright & Efficient: About 20% brighter than other LED tubes, while reducing energy usage by at least 50% compared to old fluorescent tubes.
  • Long Life: Designed to operate for 50,000 hours.
  • Safe & Durable: Made from shatter-proof frosted plastic instead of glass, and completely mercury-free.
  • Easy Installation: Includes an LED starter for a quick swap in most fittings.

Available in 3 Common Sizes

This LED tube comes in the three most common T8 fluorescent tube lengths:

  • 600mm / 60cm ('2 Foot'): Uses 9W and replaces old 18W fluorescent tubes.
  • 1200mm / 120cm ('4 Foot'): Uses 18W and replaces old 36W fluro tubes. * Most Popular *
  • 1500mm / 150cm ('5 Foot'): Uses 24W and replaces old 58W fluorescent tubes.

Use the slider on the tube to select the colour temperature for your space.

Installation Guide - T8 LED Fluro Tube

Upgrading to these Philips LED tubes is easy, with two main installation types:

1) Magnetic ballast fittings (with starters). These are the most common fluro fittings, easily identified by the presence of a starter. Simply remove the old tube and starter, install the supplied Philips EMP LED starter, and insert your new LED tube. It's that easy!

2) Electronic 'High Frequency' ballast fittings (no starters). If your fluro lights come on instantly without flickering and do not have a replaceable starter, they likely use an electronic ballast. These require a licensed electrician to bypass ('wire out') the existing ballast. A wiring diagram and warning sticker are included for your electrician.

Already Using LED Tubes? These modern 'single-end power supply' LED tubes from Philips will typically work with your existing set-up. See the installation guide below for more details.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the selectable colour temperature work?

There is a small physical switch at one end of the tube. Before you insert the tube into the light fitting, slide the switch to your preferred colour temperature (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K, or 6500K). If you change your mind later, simply turn the light off, adjust the switch, and switch it back on.

What do '5CCT' and '3000K' (etc) mean?

CCT stands for Correlated Colour Temperature - it describes the warmth or coolness of a light's colour. Most LED tubes come in a fixed colour temperature, so if you need a different look, you'd have to buy a different product. These Philips tubes give you the unprecedented flexibility of five options in one

You can use whatever setting you like, but here is a guide to what the codes mean, and where they are often preferred:

Setting Colour Temperature Best For
2700K Warm White Hospitality, retail, reception areas
3000K Soft White Cafes, showrooms, accent lighting
4000K Neutral White Offices, kitchens, commercial spaces
5000K Daylight Workshops, medical, retail displays
6500K Cool Daylight Garages, warehouses, task lighting

Are these LED tubes as bright as my old fluorescent tubes?

Yes, in fact, they are probably a bit brighter. While old fluorescent tubes emit light in 360 degrees, these Philips LED tubes direct all their light downward, where it is actually needed. This more deliberate light distribution means they look just as bright - or brighter - while using roughly half the energy.

Does the price include the LED starter?

Yes. Each tube comes with a Philips LED starter - check the packaging carefully, as the starter is quite small and can be easily overlooked.

Can I use these to replace T5 tubes?

No. These are 'T8' tubes, which have a 1-inch (~26mm) diameter and pins spaced 13mm apart (G13 base). T5 tubes are thinner (16mm) with pins spaced 5mm apart. If you have T5 fittings, please see our T5 LED tubes.

What other options do you have?

See our full range of LED tubes. If you'd prefer to replace the entire fitting rather than just the tube, consider an LED panel or LED batten, which now combine the light source and fitting into a single unit (no tubes required).
