The Philips Tri Colour LED MR16 5W takes the guesswork out of replacing your downlight bulbs. They work with your existing downlight fittings, 12V transformers, and dimmer switches (or dials).
All you need to do is swap the globes.
Compared to an old halogen MR16 downlight lamp, you'll get:

Philips MR16 LED Downlight Bulb Benefits
3-Colour Switch. Click through three colour temperature settings from Warm White 3000K, Neutral White 4000K or Cool Daylight 6500K. Easily adjust the colour temperature to suit your space.
Dimmable. These bulbs work well with most existing dimmer switches, including newer LED-optimised dimmers. You can dim them right down to create an ambience or up to get work done. Philips calls it Natural Dimming.
90% Energy Savings. These lights replace old-fashioned 50W halogen lamps, using just 5W. Electricity cost savings are still a substantial 85% compared to 35W halogen bulbs.

Will it work on non-dimmable circuits?
Yes, it works on both dimmable and non-dimmable circuits.
Will the MR16 LED work with my transformer?
They work with the vast majority of existing transformers, including old iron-core transformers and the newer electronic variety.
Will the MR16 LED work with my dimmer?
It has extensive dimmer compatibility. Should you encounter a problem with your dimmer, there are several solutions available, such as:
- Leaving one halogen lamp in the circuit to increase the load, or
- Replacing the dimmer with one that is known to work with LEDs (such as this LED dimmer), or
- Removing the dimmer switch.
Will it fit in my existing downlight fitting?
They are the same width as old halogen bulbs (50mm), but they are a bit taller (57mm). If you need a shorter option for your light fittings, consider the Philips Master MR16 (46.5mm tall). Buy a few to try out first if you're unsure.
