A Foot Warmer That's Effective & Efficient
The foot mat heats you more effectively, using up to 90% less energy than other electric heaters. It delivers a pleasant, radiant warmth from directly below where you are sitting or standing.
And they're super cheap to operate. If used for four hours every day in winter, each foot mat will only cost you about $10 per year to operate.
The Problem With Other Electric Heaters
Electric heaters in most homes and offices in Australia are inefficient energy guzzlers. That's why heating is one of the key drivers of high electricity bills.
Most electric heaters consume between 1,000 and 2,400 watts and fail to direct heat where needed.
Other electric heaters, such as those pictured, are cheap to buy but very expensive to operate. And they're usually not very effective.
Oil column heaters look innocent but consume a large amount of power. Much of the heat produced by oil column heaters is lost above the heater to the ceiling.
Fan or convection heaters try to overcome this problem by forcing heat across the room. This creates another problem: air movement promotes cooling, not heating! To counteract this, they consume an enormous amount of power for their size.
Next up are the bar or panel radiator heaters. In theory, these aren't as bad because they create more effective radiant heat. But, their downsides include:
- over-spec power consumption,
- significant fire hazard, and
- they never seem to last more than one winter.
The Solution: Direct Heat, Right Where You Need It
The solution to many of the woes described above is simple: deliver radiant and conductive heat where needed. The foot mat heater achieves this by silently heating you and a small area around you.
They're ideal as under-desk heaters at work or home. We've sold these heaters to many workplaces, including factories, warehouses, shops, and offices. Their most popular use is the home office or study.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I stand on the heated mat?
Yes. You can stand on it, walk over it, or rest your feet on it - with or without shoes on.
Are other control options available?
An in-line on/off foot switch controls the foot mat heater. The foot switch even has an orange indicator light to remind you when it's switched on.
Since the heated mat plugs into a standard power outlet, it can be switched on/off with remote sockets, timers, smart switches, or plug-in thermostats. See our power control devices.
Should I buy the regular or large size?
If you have limited under-desk space or live in a mild climate, we recommend the regular size. It uses 50 watts of power and is 60cm wide and 40cm deep.
If you live in a cool climate or feel the cold - and have space for it - we recommend the large size. It uses 90 watts of electricity and is 75cm wide and 50cm deep.
Can I sit on the heated mat?
If you want a 'heated seat' you'd be better off using one of our other heat pads. They're made from a softer, more flexible material and are smaller in size.
Can I cover it or use it in wet areas like a bathroom?
No.
What other energy-efficient heaters do you sell?
We also sell heated throws, ideal for use in the loungeroom or elsewhere, and electric blankets for bedrooms.
