Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this called 'Calla Large' and an 'Extension Kit'?
An older Hue light called 'Calla' was approximately 250mm tall. This item (Calla Large) is just over 400mm tall or 566mm with the spike. It has the term 'extension' in its offical name as it is an add-on light. It does not include the main power plug that goes into your wall socket. It is designed to daisy-chain off an existing Hue outdoor light or power supply unit (PSU).
Can I use this without a Hue Bridge?
No, the Hue Calla requires a Philips Hue Bridge to function. The Bridge enables colour control, timers, and remote access via the Hue App.
How many Calla lights can I connect?
You can connect multiple lights up to the maximum wattage of your Power Supply (40W or 100W). Since the Calla uses 8W, you can connect roughly 5 units to a 40W supply or 12 units to a 100W supply.
