Frequently Asked Questions
How can I control the Philips Hue Solo lightstrips?
There are three main ways to control your Hue light strips once installed:
- Directly on your phone or tablet with the Hue App over Bluetooth. This requires you to be in the same room.
- From your phone, tablet or Hue dimmer via the Hue Bridge. This allows you to control the lights from anywhere in your home or anywhere in the world if the bridge is plugged into your internet router.
- Directly from a Hue Dimmer to the light (no App or Bridge require).
You can, of course, also switch the light strip on and off at the power point.
Can I cover more than 10 metres with these?
The 10 metre kit is the longest available and cannot be extended. However, multiple strip light kits can be used to cover large areas and controlled together in the Hue app. And they can be cut down at marked 33cm intervals to precisely fit individual applications.
Example: Two Philips Hue Solo Lightstrip Kits powered from seperate power outlets to cover a long distance.
