How to Install EGLO Outdoor Festoon Lights
Installation is flexible and straightforward:
- Hang festoon bulb holders using hooks, nails, zip ties, or guide wires. Each bulb holder has a mounting hole at the top. Mounting hardware is not included.
- Space mounting points at 4 metres or less for best support.
- Connect the 5m extension cable (if needed) between the festoon string and your nearest the power outlet.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard 230V AC household outlet. It converts this to low voltage 12V DC to power the lights.

Adding to Your Festoon Kit
Start with this 10-bulb, 8-metre kit: perfect for adding light to small areas. The included 5 metre extension cable will help you reach your nearest power outlet. Can't connect to a power outlet? See our Solar Festoon Kit. To customise your festoon lighting further:
- For larger spaces, connect up to 2 more festoon extension strings (totalling 30 bulbs over 24 metres) with the included 1A power supply.
- To light up even bigger areas, upgrade to the 12V 2A power supply to connect up to total 6 extension strings for nearly 50 metres of lights.
- Use 5m extension leads between festoon strings or from the power source to your required installation location for even greater reach and flexibility.

Can I expand the kit for a bigger area?
Yes! You can connect up to 3 festoon strings total (10 bulbs each) on the included 1A power supply, or up to 6 strings with the upgraded 2A power supply.
Can I replace the globes?
Yes, they can be purchased individually and replaced here: EGLO Festoon Bulb.
Are the bulbs and cables suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. All cables and connectors are IP65-rated for waterproof for weatherproof installation. The bulbs 12V low voltage, plastic-body and screw into a weather-protected E27 lamp holder. The bulb must hang pointing directly downward for best weather protection. The power supply plugs into to a standard household power point which should either be out of the elements or plugged into a weatherproof power point (GPO).
What if my power source is far from where I want the lights?
Use the included 5-metre extension cable or purchase additional 5-metre extensions with no bulbs to reach distances further or to span gaps between light strings.
How do I mount the lights?
Hang using your choice of hooks, nails, zip ties, or guide wires. Make sure mounting points are spaced no more than 4 metres apart for safe, secure installation.
What is the total maximum length I can achieve?
With the upgraded 2A power supply and six festoon extension strings, you can light up almost 50 metres from a single power outlet.
Can I control the lights remotely?
Yes. Plug them into one of the following remote sockets, timers or smart plugs.
