How to Install EGLO Solar Festoon Lights
Installation is flexible and straightforward:
- Hang festoon bulb holders using hooks, nails, zip ties, or guide wires. Each bulb holder has a mounting hole at the top. Mounting hardware is not included.
- Space mounting points at 4 metres or less for best support.
- Connect the 5m extension cable (if needed).
- Mount the solar panel in full sun with the battery positioned in a shaded location.
- Allow one day charging in full sun before first use.

Adding to Your Festoon Kit
Start with this 10-bulb, 8-metre kit: perfect for adding light to small areas. The included 5 metre extension cable will help you reach a sunny area for the solar panel. To customise your festoon lighting further:
- For larger spaces, connect up to 2 more festoon extension strings (totalling 30 bulbs over 24 metres).
- Use 5m extension leads between festoon strings or from the solar panel to your required installation location for even greater reach and flexibility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I expand the kit for a bigger area?
Yes! You can connect up to 3 festoon strings total (10 bulbs each) to the included solar panel and battery. That's 24 metres of lights in total with an additional 5 metres of included extension cord. If more lights or length is needed, consider buying a second (or multiple) solar kits.
How long will the lights run?

How does the Auto on/off function work?
With the switch left ON, the festoon light will turn on automatically when the surrounding sunlight drops to a low level. Alternatively, you can manually trigger the light turning on by unplugging the connectors between the solar panel and battery box. Afterwards the plug must be connected back for the battery to be charged.
Can I replace the globes?
Yes, they can be purchased individually and replaced here: EGLO Festoon Bulb.
Are the bulbs and cables safe for outdoor use?
Yes. All cables and connectors are IP65-rated for waterproof for weatherproof installation. The solar panel and battery are sealed. The bulbs 12V low voltage, plastic-body and screw into a weather-protected E27 lamp holder. The bulb must hang pointing directly downward for best weather protection.
What if the ideal solar panel and battery mounting position is far from where I want the lights?
Use the included 5-metre extension cable and if needed, purchase additional 5-metre extensions cords.
How do I mount the lights?
Hang using your choice of hooks, nails, zip ties, or guide wires. Mount with spacing of 4 metres apart or less.
