FLIR E5 vs. FLIR E6 vs. FLIR E8
The FLIR Ex Series thermal cameras are powerful tools for fault finding and preventative maintenance. The FLIR Ex Series includes three models to fit your infrared inspection needs and available budget. The primary differences within the Ex Series are temperature range, thermal resolution, and thermal sensitivity.
Model | FLIR E5 Pro | FLIR E6 Pro | FLIR E8 Pro |
Thermal Resolution (Pixels) | 160 x 120 (19,200) | 240 x 180 (43,200) | 320 x 240 (76,800) |
Thermal Sensitivity | 0.06˚C | 0.05˚C | 0.04˚C |
Temperature Range | -20˚C to 400˚C | -20˚C to 550˚C |
We recommend you purchase at least a FLIR E5 Pro for most professional applications. If you can afford it, the E6 Pro offers double the resolution and almost half the sensitivity (without doubling the price). The E8 Pro is top-of-the-range, offers double the resolution of the E6 again, and includes a spare battery and charger at no extra cost.
