Quality LED Downlight for 90mm Ceiling Cut Outs

This Philips 90mm LED Downlight 7.5W is a perfect solution for replacing existing or installing new dimmable LED downlights. It has the following key features:

Energy Efficient - It consumes just 7.5W of power but puts out more light than an old fashioned halogen downlight that uses 50W.

Dimmable LED Downlight - Works well on existing or new LED dimmers.

Robust & Versatile - This 90mm led downlight carries an IP54, IC-4 and IK03 rating. This means it is splash-proof, can be covered with ceiling insulation, and is impact resistant.

Selectable Colour Temperature - A tri-colour switch on the back of the downlight allows you to choose your preferred colour temperature (see graphic below).

Easy Installation - Comes pre-wired with a power lead and 2-pin power plug.

Philips LED Downlight Tri Colour Switch Options

The Philips 90mm LED downlight includes three colour temperature options built-in (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, or 6500K daylight).

90mm Downlight Spacing Guide

The graphic below provides an installation guide for new downlight installations. Notice that the light spread at floor level is 5.7m, or about 2.4 times the ceiling height.

To calculate the light spread at floor level for this 90mm downlight, multiply your ceiling height by 2.4.

For adequate lighting levels, some overlap is required (as pictured below). We recommend that these LED downlights be installed between 1.5m and 4m apart.

Close spacing of dimmable downlights is helpful for 'task lighting' such as above kitchen benchtops. Downlights in bedrooms and living areas can be installed further apart.

When replacing existing downlights, it's easiest to stick with the existing lighting layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need a separate transformer?

No, the transformer is built in. Unlike old downlights - which had a separate globe, fitting and transformer - this new design combines all components into a single product. It plugs straight into a mains power outlet with the included lead and plug.

What dimmers do you recommend for this 90mm downlight?

This Philips LED downlight works with most existing and new dimmer switches. We have tested it on the MEDM (which needs a separate on/off switch) and MMDM (integrated on/off control) LED dimmers, and it works exceptionally well on both dimmers. Even with only one LED downlight attached, these dimmers can dim the downlight right down.

Do I have to use a dimmer?

No - the Philips 90mm LED downlight works fine on a regular light switch.

What other LED downlight options do you sell?

We sell various other options, including LED downlight bulbs (MR16, GU10, etc). Click here to view our full range: LED downlights.

Great product. Warmly recommended

Product was received very quick and packed with care. The product was very easy to install. I’m not a sparky, just a normal person. To install it I just needed to plug it in. There are three light options to choose from. I selected natural light and I was surprised on how bright they are. I thought that as an energy efficient light it will not be as bright, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the light is even brighter than previously installed normal bulbs.
I definitely recommend this product.

Great downlight

This is not the first down light of this type I've purchased from Reduction Revolution and I always find the service to be exemplary and the product to be exactly as described. The light is very good value and of very good quality. Performance is excellent and the ability to dial in your preferred colour temperature is very useful.

Excellent lights

Ordered a dozen lights and they were so good and easy to install that I ordered another dozen for around the house. Far more efficient then my old down lights that had separate transformers.

Great Downlight replacement

A nice unit to easily allow replacement of old halogen or early model LEDs. They fit easily through the standard ceiling hole of a halogen fitting so no cutting required but the rim that is visible from below is just a couple of mm larger, our last painter had painted the halogen fitting to the ceiling - cutting the paint with a sharp knife and the
extra few mm of the rim covered it all up - so no paint repairs required. Nice also that you can easily change the colour temperature and also add a dimmer. Good light spread as well. Great price and you can lay insulation straight on top.
