ST64 Light Bulbs
ST64 light bulbs are decorative, filament-style globes. Historically, they produced light by heating an incandescent wire filament, but our ST64 light bulbs only use much cheaper-to-operate (and safer) LED technology.
The 'ST' stands for 'spherical tubular' or 'straight tubular', depending on who you believe. The 64 is less ambiguous as it indicates its size, being 6.4cm (64mm) wide at its widest point. You'll often see ST64 globes where a warm and inviting lighting ambience is desired, like in cafes, restaurants, or your living room or bedroom!
ST64 globes are sometimes called 'Pear Shape Light Bulbs' or 'Tear Drop Shaped Light Bulbs'. You can typically use and T64 bulb in place of the very similar but less common ST58 and ST72 globes.
ST64 vs ST72 Light Bulbs
As you may guess, there is not a huge difference between ST64 and ST72 light bulbs - with only 8mm (0.8cm) in width between them. An ST72 light bulb has a 7.2cm (72mm) witch at its widest point.
