The Philips Master LED tube fits all standard T8 light fittings that are '4 foot' (~1.2m) in length. This item replaces regular 36W fluoro tubes with a 10.5W LED.

Choose between 4000K (Cool White) and 6500K (Cool Daylight) colour temperatures.

Installation Guide - 4 Foot (1200mm) LED Fluro Tube

There are three main types of fluorescent tube light fittings in existing buildings: 

1) Magnetic ballast 'EM' fittings with starters. These are the most common type: simply replace the tube and starter (supplied), and you're done! The presence of starters quickly identifies magnetic ballast fittings.

Easy installation for any fitting with a starter.

2) Electronic ballast fittings (no starters). Unlike the above example, these fittings do not have a starter. They require an electrician to 'wire out' the existing ballast. Fluro lights without starters that come on instantly (no blinking) are generally electronic ballasts.

3) Fittings already using LED tubes. Observe the end of the Philips tube labelled L and N for these fittings and insert it in the same direction as the current tube. If your fixture has been wired correctly, the direction should not matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these LED tubes as bright as old fluorescent tubes?

Yes - although technically speaking, LED tubes produce fewer lumens than brand-new T8 fluorescent tubes. Old fluro tubes release light in all directions (360˚), much of which is lost inside the fitting. Fluorescent tubes also degrade over time and become very dim as they age.

Conversely, these Philips Master LED tubes only direct their light output downward (with a 190˚ beam angle) where needed. They still spread light throughout the room without losing it to the fixture or ceiling. This means they produce the same amount of useable light with less lumens. They also retain their lumen output more reliably over time.

Does your price include an LED starter?

Yes - remember to check the packaging for the LED starter. It's easy to miss if you open the box at the other end!

The LED starter is essentially just a safety fuse. It replaces the old fluro starter and allows the LED tube to work in your existing light fittings without further modification.
