LotusGrill Portable Charcoal BBQ
The LotusGrill is an energy and time saving portable charcoal BBQ. Its unique design allows you to barbeque with minimal fuss and maximum flavour.
This Kit includes:
- LotusGrill Portable Charcoal BBQ.
- Carry Bag.
- 4 x AA Batteries, USB Cable, and Printed Instruction Manual.
You will also need:
- Some ethanol starter gel (or similar).
- Lump charcoal - must be 'lump charcoal' not 'heat beads'. You can buy lump charcoal from the hardware store and sometimes from the supermarket.
- Hood with Thermometer - for slow roasting and baking larger dishes.
- Pizza / Grill Stone - create a portable pizza oven (needs Hood as well).
- Glass Lid with Thermometer - for extra heat retention.
The Best Portable Charcoal BBQ
The LotusGrill uses a maximum of just 250 grams of charcoal. Given its energy-efficient design, this is more than enough for a few batches of food cooked over about 45 minutes. We've managed to cook steaks, vegetable skewers, and sausages, all in the one session. The charcoal canister can also be topped up, so you can keep cooking for longer if needed.
The Lotus Grill fits about four decent-sized steaks on its 32cm diameter grill. If you're cooking for a big group, you can cook in a few batches.
Get Cooking in Record Time
The LotusGrill portable charcoal BBQ uses a built-in fan to create a ‘bellows effect’ so you'll be grilling in under 5 minutes. The fan also allows for heat adjustment via its variable speed control dial. The fan is powered in two ways:
- 4 x AA batteries (included) - for grilling anywhere, or
- 2.5m long USB cable (also included) - save on batteries, use a portable power bank, or plug into any USB power port.
Compare this to other charcoal barbeques like a Weber, which need at least 30 minutes before they’re ready to cook on.

Safe & 'Smokeless' Portable Charcoal BBQ Grill
The outside of the BBQ stays cool to touch thanks to its double-layered construction. Additionally, the charcoal burns inside a closed mesh container so nothing can fall out. Even if you turn it upside down, or accidentally kick it over. This design also prevents fat and oil from dripping directly onto the coals, which reduces the amount of smoke generated.
A Portable Camping BBQ
The LotusGrill weighs less than 4kg and comes with a handy carry bag. It's perfect for picnics, camping, and for smaller spaces like apartment balconies.
The Lotus Grill can be packed away neatly after use, great for those who don't have room for a huge BBQ. You can even cook at the table - Korean BBQ style!
LotusGrill makes barbecuing when camping quick, clean, and efficient.
Easy to Clean Charcoal BBQ
The components of the LotusGrill can be quickly and easily dismantled for cleaning. The grill grid and inner bowl are also dishwasher safe. Compare that to your typical cockroach-infested outdoor gas or 'swap-and-go' LPG portable BBQ.
Award-Winning German Design
The LotusGrill is a stylish, award-winning design made from quality materials. The BBQ grill and inner shell are made of stainless steel, and the outer shell is made of powder-coated steel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use regular charcoal BBQ heat beads or briquettes with the LotusGrill?
No - regular products are not recommended for use with the LotusGrill. They burn too slowly and do not provide a useful amount of heat (we tried!). It must be Lump Charcoal and in small enough pieces to fit inside the LotusGrill canister.
How long is the burn time?
Combustion time varies between 40 and 90 minutes depending on the charcoal used, and fan speed. You can slow roast your food using the optional LotusGrill Hood.
