New form fitting GU10 LED globe

This Philips GU10 globe is the same size as the halogen lamps they replace. This means a simple 'drop-in' replacement in virtually all GU10 fittings (no electrician required).

Reduce energy usage by 90%

These GU10 LED lamps deliver an astonishing 90% reduction in energy consumption. They take your existing 50 watt 240 volt halogen down lights to a tiny 4.3 watts of power consumption.

In other words, you can power ten of these GU10 LEDs with about the same amount of electricity previously used for just one halogen.

Dimmable, mains voltage GU10 LED

These lamps are designed for mains voltage halogen fixtures where no transformer is present. If you have transformers in your roof please see our MR16 (low voltage) LEDs.

These lamps have a medium beam angle of 40° in a range of colour options (warm white or cool white). And they're fully dimmable.

Better than compact fluorescent GU10

Unlike compact fluorescent down lights (pictured on the left) these LEDs start instantly at full brightness.

Power consumption is 4.3 watts for a true halogen replacement. CFLs, on the other hand, consume more power (11 or 13 watts) and fail to adequately replace a halogen lamp.

Additionally, lamp lifetime is 40,000 hours, or about four times longer than compact fluorescent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work with my dimmer?

Yes, it has very wide dimmer compatibility.

In some cases where there are less than 4 lights on a circuit you may encounter an under-loading of the dimmer switch. Should there be a problem, there are several solutions available, such as:

  1. Leaving one halogen bulb in the circuit to bring up the load, or
  2. Using the 'Clipsal Load Correction Device' for Clipsal dimmers, or
  3. Replacing the dimmer with one that is known to work (eg. 'Sylvania Trader Dimpala Pedigree'), or
  4. Removing the dimmer switch.
